Khevin Almario, the Shy Singer of the longest running noontime show in the Philippines, Eat Bulaga, has announced the upcoming release of his latest single, “Bakit Ikaw”. The single is exclusively distributed by Digital Sauce and will be available on all major streaming platforms worldwide on March 20.

During his Mellow Mondays with Khevin Almario livestream, he shared a teaser created for him by Digital Sauce, generating excitement among his fans who are eagerly anticipating the release of the full version of the song.

Interestingly, “Bakit Ikaw” was composed by Almario back in 2000-2001 when he was still in high school. Originally titled “Ako’y Iyo”, the song was written for someone he liked at the time, though he can no longer recall who that person was. In 2021, he revisited the song and realized that the original text was immature, scattered, and illogical. He concluded that it was because he was also still immature at the time. Thus, he made revisions to the text and some parts of the song that didn’t make sense.

Almario’s friends, who were familiar with both the old and new versions of the song, claimed that the new rendition makes more sense, while the old version showcased the rawness of a much younger love.
