Sabrina Carpenter’s hit song, “Please Please Please,” has reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
According to Billboard’s latest top 10 release on Monday, Carpenter’s single surpassed Post Malone and Morgan Wallen’s song “I Had Some Help,” marking her first number one hit on the chart. The song debuted at number two last week.
Carpenter’s previous hit, “Espresso,” which peaked at number three, remains in the top 10 at the fourth position.
The music video for “Please Please Please” features Carpenter and her rumored boyfriend, Oscar-nominated actor Barry Keoghan. Directed by Bardia Zeinali, the video shows Keoghan getting repeatedly arrested for various crimes while Carpenter picks him up from jail, all set to the song’s lyrics.
Carpenter, 25, will release her sixth album, “Short n’ Sweet,” on August 23, with “Please Please Please” as the second single after “Espresso.”
She also announced the “Short n’ Sweet Tour,” starting in Columbus, Ohio, this fall and ending in Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena on November 15. Presale starts on Tuesday, with general ticket sales opening on Friday.
