ABS-CBN News’ innovative digital projects were recognized at the 2024 Asia Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards in Singapore, where they took home two awards. The Digital Transformation award was given to Patrol ng Pilipino, a platform that allows ABS-CBN News reporters to share stories in vertical video formats, reaching more audiences on social media. With over 150,000 followers and two million likes on TikTok, Patrol ng Pilipino has paved the way for other digital video products from ABS-CBN’s News Gathering arm.
The ABS-CBN Digital News Gathering Team’s almost 15-hour livestream coverage of the 2024 Feast of the Black Nazarene won the Live Event Streaming Award. The #Nazareno2024 livestream became the most-watched live stream in the Philippines for the day and was also utilized by other organizations like the People’s Television Network, TV Maria, and the Quiapo Church.
