Jack Daniel’s Philippines, a well-known whiskey brand, has once again delved into the music scene by partnering with independent Original Pilipino Music (OPM) artists for a series of shows in the country. The brand, having a long history of supporting the local independent music community, is set to showcase the talents of the next generation of music greats through its music program, Jack Daniel’s On Stage 2024 (JDOS) in the Philippines.
With the aim of championing the movers and shakers of the Philippine independent music scene, JDOS provides a platform for bands to exhibit their artistry and musicality. Through a series of live performances and media opportunities, the program aims to pave the way for these artists to reach a wider audience and step onto a much bigger stage.
“Music has always been part of Jack Daniel’s DNA,” shared Gabriel Fajardo, the Brand Manager of Jack Daniel’s Emerging Asia. “It is through music that the brand has solidified its place in culture and how many people have connected with Jack over the years.”
Built on the values of promoting community-building and inclusivity through live music, JDOS empowers musicians to express their genuine selves through their performances. The brand and its partners aspire to inspire these aspiring artists to elevate their craft and propel them further into a professional career in the music industry, whether it be in the Philippines or abroad.
This year, JDOS has collaborated with emerging and recurring production partners known for their dedication to strengthening indie music communities through their distinct curation and voice. The production groups involved in creating a lineup that caters to all musical tastes include GNN (Gabi Na Naman Productions), Locked Down Entertainment, Doc Def Productions, SYQL, The Flying Lugaw, Otelik Presents, and Funky Beat Entertainment.
JDOS will highlight the diversity and richness of the local music scene with live event stages in key outlets in Metro Manila. Together with Jack Daniel’s, the production partners will organize music events in various venues featuring this year’s roster of independent artists.
“We want to give the up-and-coming artists the avenue to feel the adrenaline of the live stages, of putting themselves out there for everyone to listen and watch… We want their stories to be heard by people and to give them the opportunity to share their music boldly to the world,” expressed Gabe.
The JDOS Playlist Live schedule includes events by different production partners on the following dates: October 18 – Locked Down Entertainment, November 9 – Funkybeat Entertainment, November 16 – Doc Def Productions, November 23 – The Flying Lugaw, November 29 – GNN, December 6 – Otelik presents, and December 7 – SYQL.
In addition to promoting emerging artists, Jack Daniel’s Philippines has also been supportive of established musicians. Recently, former Moonstar88 vocalist Acel announced her plans to migrate to the Netherlands and will hold a farewell concert in October. This goes to show the brand’s commitment to the local music scene and its artists, both new and seasoned.
As Jack Daniel’s Philippines continues to champion the Philippine independent music community through JDOS, it remains a significant force in shaping the landscape of the local music industry. By providing a platform for artists to showcase their talents and reach a wider audience, the brand’s dedication to supporting the growth of OPM and indie music in the country is truly commendable.
