Khevin Almario, known for his reserved demeanor on the popular noontime variety show Eat Bulaga as the “Shy Singer,” has recently debuted his first-ever instrumental piece, “Mellow Mondays,” which serves as the official theme song for his Monday night live streaming series of the same name. The track is available worldwide on major streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music as of March 6.

It is no secret that Khevin’s passion for music runs deep. Prior to his introduction as the “Shy Singer” on Eat Bulaga in June of 2021, he had already established himself as a dedicated and accomplished musician. In 2016, he pursued a Diploma in Creative and Performing Musical Arts, specializing in Voice Performance, from the highly regarded UP College of Music in Diliman.

Khevin’s love for music has led him to participate in several musical productions, including those staged by the Repertory Philippines’ Children’s Theatre. In 2003, he played the role of a baritone rose bush in Beauty and the Beast. The following year, he was part of the ensemble cast in Pinocchio, where he played one of the villagers. In 2005, he portrayed the character of a baritone phage in The Emperor’s New Clothes. He was later cast as a Balloon Seller in RCT’s revival of Pinocchio in 2014.

In addition to his work in theatre, Khevin has also ventured into the realm of musicals. He played the role of Hugo Harty as part of the ensemble cast in Repertory Philippines’ production of Scrooge, and also served as the voice coach for the show’s artistic team. In 2015, Khevin was chosen as one of the top Filipino talents to star in Singapura, the first original Filipino Broadway musical staged in Singapore. He was responsible for supervising the musical’s orchestra behind the scenes.

When he is not performing on stage or on camera, Khevin devotes his time to his passion for music by playing the keyboard and singing at various events, primarily weddings. He also provides private voice and beginner piano lessons, and has been serving as the choir master of the Couples for Christ Choir in The National Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Makati since 2001, and The 5PM Choir of Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Makati since 2014.
