Parokya Ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda has found a way to raise funds for his bandmate and best friend, Gab Chee Kee, who has been receiving medical care in the intensive care unit for lymphoma. Miranda has been actively auctioning off memorabilia and organizing benefit concerts to help defray the medical expenses of his bandmate.
In a recent Instagram post, Miranda shared that he has found the same white “Bagsakan” polo shirt used by the late Francis Magalona in a music video produced by Parokya ni Edgar in 2009. Magalona and another rapper, Gloc-9, were part of the video. Miranda plans to auction off the shirt to raise funds for Gab’s treatment.
Miranda expressed his gratitude to Saab Magalona, Francis’ daughter, for helping him find the shirt. He shared that he had lost hope that the shirt would still be found, but he took a chance and messaged Saab Magalona about it. After a few days, she sent him a photo of the shirt, which he was able to acquire for Gab’s benefit.
The shirt, which bears the design of three stars and a sun in the pocket, is similar to the one that Miranda sold a few weeks ago, which fetched some P110,000. He hopes that the shirt of the late Master Rapper will also receive a similar bid.
Miranda also shared his conversation with Saab Magalona about the shirt. He thanked her for helping him find the item and for agreeing to auction it off for Gab’s benefit. Miranda expressed his gratitude to the Magalona family for their support and generosity.
In addition to the shirt, Miranda also sold two monkey puppets used in Parokya’s “Halina sa Parokya” album cover for P35,000. He continues to find ways to raise funds for Gab’s treatment and encourages his fans and supporters to help out in any way they can.
